Bonding is a method used to restore chipped, cracked, discoloured or misarranged teeth. It utilizes a plastic resin, which is sculpted into the correct shape by the dentist to be affixed to the tooth with an adhesive bonding liquid. This is a simple, safe procedure that can usually be done in a single visit, and which gives an attractive and natural appearance to your smile.
Inlays and Onlays
When a large portion of a tooth's biting surface is damaged, an inlay or onlay may be the best solution. This procedure requires two appointments to complete. During the first visit we will remove the damaged area of the tooth and prepare it for the inlay or onlay, applying a temporary sealant until the second appointment. During your second visit the temporary sealant will be removed, and the inlay or onlay will be bonded to your tooth. Similar to a filling, inlays and onlays generally utilize porcelain as a material due to its strength and colour.
Porcelain fillings offer a more natural look for your teeth, and we're proud to offer them to our patients. Unsightly silver fillings can be replaced with materials such as porcelain and resin to create a more natural looking and attractive smile.
